Does size matter when it comes to the size of your screen? Well, it depends. I used to have an “it can never be big enough” philosophy when it came it to screen size.  I believe this was due to the fact that we as humans tend out to outgrow things quickly and simply want more and bigger and better.  But that quickly changed when I tried to view my newly purchased 60″ TV from 3 feet way in my minuscule basement at the time. Within a few minutes, my eyes just simply could not keep up with the enormity of the screen at such a small viewing distance.  I was burdened with daily headaches due to the proximity of my TV viewing!  After that horrendous experience, I have revised my thinking to a new philosophy – “go with what’s comfortable.”

People are different, and while a 75″ screen might be comfortable for you, it may not be for everyone else. And why does everyone else matter? Well, they don’t generally, but if they are going to be a part of a somewhat routine audience (sporting events, gaming, weekly TV show that everyone’s hooked on, etc.) well then you may not want to ignore them.  I can tell you from experience, that my sister would rather watch TV at home on her small 24″ tube then at my place with my gargantuan setup.
